Another two dives this day, one at a site called Paradise and one at a site called Santa Rosa. At Paradise was a 400m reef wall which we explored at about 25m deep. Yet again this was a drift dive although not as rapid as the drifts at Turtle Reef, but this was probably because the sea was like a pond today rather than a tsunami. Thank the lord, that means no sea-sickness this time. On the boat again was Jaap from Holland who gave us the low down on Holland's favourite activity. He also reckons he gave up the green stuff years ago. Yeah right. The diving was again pretty awesome and some amazing sea-life was seen from turtles (again), to lobsters, weird crusty crabs and many mad looking fish. The reef wall was probably the best dive of the lot and what made it better was when Pancho decided to lead us through a small hole in the reef wall into a cave-like tunnel so small that our tanks were banging off the roof. Mega claustrophobia, if you let it get to you! It was here that Hero's arm brushed against a sea fern of some sort as he crawled through the tunnel and promptly received a million stings up his arm which swelled up for the next 4 weeks. When he thanked Pancho for it after, the reply was simply "Yeah they can be nasty, especially when they brush your face". Nice one Pancho! |
