Having done his highest jump to date off the Auckland Sky Tower at 192m, Hero thought he would test out his flying skills and do a 14,000ft tandem sky dive!  This is the most adrenalin rushing thing you can do.  It's true the actual jump out the plane is not as scary as jumping from a bungee platform, partly because of the height you are at but mostly because you are not in control of the moment you actually jump out.  But the 60 seconds of freefall that follows is a pure adrenalin rush.  Flipping over 360 degrees as you leave the plane is just awesome.  With the wind rushing through your nostrils at over 220kph and with the air already a little bit thin at that altitude, plus add to that your own excitement, it can be a bit difficult to breathe at first.  But one jump and you're hooked.  The sky dive school, www.goskydive.com.au, were fantastic.  New Zealander Logan was Hero's tandem instructor and what a geezer he was.  He took some absolutely quality video footage and was a professional throughout.  Tandem master Garry joined us for the jump just for the hell of it.  This guy is crazy (in an expert way!).  He was second to jump out and it was absolutely exhilarating to see him come floating over to you just like something out the film Point Break.  Then he shouts "Hero, watch this" and flicks his canopy into such a crazy fast spin that he plummeted like a shuttle cock and actually landed a good minute or two before us!  The whole Go Skydive team were fantastic, including the guy who drove the limo to take us back.  One of the best bits was chilling out back at the airport cabin with the skydiving dudes, watching the video back after a 'never to forget' experience.  Until next time...
